Beginning Wage $16.94/hr with potential increase based on experience
Paid 2 week work trial upon starting date to ensure compatibility and understand the demands of the job
Performance based year-end bonus for a full season of work
Hours are flexible - consistency is required (we are willing to work with you)
Chicken processing days 7am-12pm (minimum)
Paid 1/2 hr lunch break if working over 6hrs a day
Select weekly vegetables from market or excess from harvest and discounted chicken (when available)
Workers compensation insurance provided after work trial is complete and commitment is given

What we do and what you can expect from us
We are a diversified farm raising pastured meat chickens, laying hens and pigs, and growing awesome vegetables. We practice organic growing methods and humane handling and management of our animals.
We strive to maintain a safe, healthy, and fun work environment.
We have a State licensed poultry processing facility for poultry slaughter and butchering. This processing takes place every other Wednesday from the end of May through the First week in November (12 dates,) with 2 additional dates pending.
We enjoy sharing our knowledge of growing vegetables and raising animals, and offer the employee an opportunity to learn the process of managing, slaughtering, and butchering chickens and working with pigs in a natural environment.
Applicant Requirements
FULL TIME ONLY
Participation in all chicken processing days as an eviscerator (we will train you)
FOR FULL & PART TIME
Prior experience on a working farm in vegetable and livestock production a plus
Possibility of participating in chicken processing days
Ability to work efficiently solo or with others
Can take direction and instructions comfortably and will ask for clarification when needed (very important)
Self-motivated, organized, and punctual
Great work ethic, positive attitude, and respect for others
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work an extended amount of time on feet or bent over on hands and knees
Must be able to handle animals in a humane and respectful manner
Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
Applicant must carry a valid drivers license and have reliable transportation
Employee Responsibilities
Vegetables
Sowing, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, bed prep, cover crop planting, soil amending, using hand tools and small machinery, market preparation including washing, bagging, and packing.
Animals
Chickens- Monitoring the health and well-being of chicks in the brooder and chickens out on pasture, moving chicks to pasture, moving pasture shelters daily, feeding and watering, processing of the birds.
Collecting eggs, sorting, washing, and packing.
Pigs- monitoring the health and well-being of the pigs, installing fencing, moving electric fences for new pastures, feeding and watering.
Misc
Assist with farm restoration projects and building infrastructure, maintaining clean and organized work spaces, logging data, filling orders.
